SSDD

Same shit as last week. Different day. 5 Am till 3:48 PM. Until they learn to get it right. Oh well, more money for all of us.

Morning.

Yes, it is. Well, it supposed to at least cool down out there. Like REAL cold. They are saying some places in michigan will get lots of snow today. I think I might set the tree up tonight. Not sure. I plan on doing it sunday, and I would like to make some egg nog and do it. I think that would be cool.

Work was the same as always. Long. Filled with stupidity. We had a great morning going. Then we have a scanner on the main line go down. Then they decided to run the convertible seats after that, so DCX just blew us by. We were never able to catch back up. I don't know who decides this shit sometimes.

Bill over at DQ has some interesting stuff about a Newsweek article on violence in video games. Check it out.

Oh well. I am off to get ready for work..:(

Hmmm

New? It doesn't look new. I wonder what sort of fancy new services I get with the Blogger Beta.

Anyways.

It's taken me weeks at work to figure out why the numbers on the board look so goofie. I finally figure it out yesterday. It was a simple math problem. I figured it out on paper, and I showed it to some of the supervisors. But. They dont think I am right. Something needs to be done with the plant, we can't seem to make 60 seats a hour, but we ship 60. So by that, we should always be under every hour. We aren't.....Oh well.

So. Wednesday. Top Chef. I love that show.

Hump day. I packed a lunch. I need money to X mas shop. Anything else? Oh yea, my X Mas list has been sitting here on my desk for about 3 weeks now, right out in the open, and I keep getting asked what I want for X Mas...Hmmmm....

Sometimes Lost

More than sometimes, I feel like I am lost. I am not sure where I am headed or wether or not I am on the right path, down the right road. Or if I am just on some little dirt path that lets me see the road, but keeps me headed in the wrong direction.

With all the hours I work, I wonder if The GF is not so much getting tired of me not being here, but just getting bored waiting for me to be here for her. If our age difference weren't so large, I would be able to handle it better I think. With me being so much older, I really dont know. I don't want her to leave, I dont want her to be bored with me. I want to be with her. I am just afraid that she's going to realize that she doesn't want to be with me anymore, even when she says thats not the cast.

OK. Enough bean spilling.

Just Like The Old

Well, just like the old days before our vacation, the stupidity rears its head. 5 Am - 3:48 PM. Why? Because we run to slow. Why? Well, honestly, because the buffer and shipping lane are full and we can't really run. No one in the supervisors seats seem to see that though. I dont know why.

Heroes. Much better than I had thought it was going to be. I would have never guessed that Jessica was the dead sister.

Did Hiro loose his power, or does he just not want to use it again? Doesnt surprise me that even before-hand Peters brother was a dick. Eden is pretty awesome. I still feel bad for the cop.

Oh well.

So This is X-Mas...

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. IF anyone reads this. Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday with lots of food, and drink and family. Or at least was able to just chill at home.

Back to work. Only 4 weeks though. Then we have almost 2 weeks off. It's only one work week, but its 2 with the weekends thrown in there. I believe anyways. Unless they do something stupid and make us work in there. UAW X-Mas party this weekend as well. I have to remember to get my tickets. I hope that at least someone from our plant is going. 5 am today. I hate that shit. Oh well.

Played WoW over the 4 day. Got my lock to 20, which was kinda my goal. Now I at least stand a chance of getting to 60 by January 16th..:) I read some, OK, well I read a lot. I read a entire novel in like 2 days. I made some soup. Went to dinner with my dad, and The GF. Nothing exiciting really, but it was nice to rest, and not have to be up at the crack of dawn every morning. I got some drawing done, which is another thing that I needed to get done. I cleaned the dining room area of the apartment in preperation for the tree. I just wish it would get cold out at least and not be in the 50's.

Oh well. See everyone around.

Weekend.

So Saturday wasnt to bad. Played hookie from work. Went shopping in the morning, to hear how the PS3 launch went. Came home. My brother called. I went shopping with him, same mall. I went and had a couple beers, watched about half of the michigan, Ohio game, came home. made Chili, which is damn good, by the way, then I went to play Warcraft. Out of time. Damn! Back to the mall.

Sunday. Up early, take the GF to work. came home, putzed around the internet, posted on some forums. Played guitar hero II. ALL DAY! I managed to get all but two songs on medium at 5 stars. Carry Me Over, and Psychobilly Freakout! Bastards!

Anyways, wasnt a bad weekend. Oh, and made a appointment to get my tatt done. 80 bucks, about a hour he said. Monday at 7. I can't wait, I wanted this one for awhile now. If he does a good job, I will head back there to get the other one done too.

Beyond Band of Brothers

So, I am not yet quite finished with this book. I have about 60 pages left, but its been VE day already, so I think I can give a pretty good summary of the book. AWESOME! If you liked the HBO Series, I recommend this book. If you are a WWII buff, I recommend this book. If you didnt see the HBO series, I highly recommend that, as this doesnt cover everything from that, just some of the missing, fill-in-the-blanks kinda stuff.

Winters is a great writer. Very emotional. very Indepth. If the series didn't let you see the chaos, and hell that these guys went through this should do that for you.

Its Been A Long Time

Its been a long time since I bothered to use this blog. I kinda miss it. I like the format, the set up, the feel of it all. I am going to use it more frequently, and get away from myspace. If you are interested though. My Myspace.

Happy Halloween to all and anyone who DOES read this. Work let us out early, due to supply isuues. Which is nothing really new. Tonight, I will head to my brothers with the GF to hand out candy to any kids who happen by.

The new betta seems to be doing well. He seems happy enough, he swims all around, has uprooted some of the plants and moved them as well.

National Writing Month, starts tonight at midnight. 50,000 words by the end of November, I hope I can come close at least.

My Eldar army sits forlornly at the hobby store, while I have no money to pick it up. Guitar Hero II comes out on the 7th. THAT, I will have.

Anyways. Welcome back to me, hope I can find some new readers.

Baseball Mogul 2007

First. I am not by any means one of those baseball numbers guys, but, I am a fan. It's just to bad that I'm here in Detroit, with the Tigers, and they couldn't seem to put together a winning season for thier lives. Until this year, that is. They seem to be doing well. Second. I like baseball games even though I may not be that good at them. Usually I go with the game where I get to bat, and pitch and what not, but I think I would try something else on for a change. Hence, Baseball Mogul 2007.

Baseball Mogul 2007 is a mostly text based game that allows you to make trades, set line ups, set prices in your stadium, and all sorts of other stats that are lost on the baseball layman. You pick your team (in my case The Tigers), the difficulty level, and the rosters (real or not), and then your off. You choose to either watch the games as the General Manager, or you can play as the Manager. Playing as the Manager allows you to guess pitches, call for steals, sacrifice bunts, things like that. What you dont do, is actually swing the bat. That's taken care of by the AI in the game. During pitching times, it allows you to choose which pitch and where it goes. In this sense similar to if you were playing say MLB '06, of MLB 2K. You can play game by game, or simulate a week, a whole month, or there is a option to allow you to simulate multiple seasons at once. That's the overall jist of the game in a nutshell. Now onto the other little things though.

The 'good stuff'. LOTS of options. So many options you can get lost. While the ability to get lost in the options might be a bad thing, I found that searching around, I was able to dig out the options that I wanted most, and tweak them to my liking. You have a set of 'slider options' for Offense, Defense, Pitching, Running, and the like. I found that in the month where I sat as Gm and did the games, that my guys weren't tagging up on flies, and weren't trying for that extra base. The Tigers may not be the greatest team, but stat wise they seemed to have some speed and where not using it. I changed that. It seemed to help them. A little. (no fault of the actual game). There's a whole set of tracking stuff, HR Leaders, AVG Leaders, which team is on top, a news section that shows you trades, and ERA, and all kinds of good stuff. I loved the Headlines option that gave you a look at the weeks games and good plays or loses, in some cases. Like when I played the Royals and the pitcher threw like 12 Strike Outs. Hmmm.
Farm Teams, and AAA. There are A LOT of players in the line ups. You can move players around from farm league, and minors, up to the majors, and back again. Each playerhas a 'card' to look at. It tells you thier stats for the week, or month, plus what they did last year. What they are good at, what they suck at, and a little smiley or sad face to let you know how they feel and why.
In the patch they just released, even when you play games as a General Manager, and start a game it doesn't just start anymore. You are allowed to make changes. Which is nice. Previously the game would just start going on you. Kinda eh, if you ask me.

The 'bad stuff'. Sadly. I found more about this game that I felt needed improvement, than I did the stuff that I liked. When you have the game paused during GM mode, you have no access to the menus. I can't think of any reason that this might make the game not balanced, so I don't see why it's set up that way.
Something I would have REALLY liked. A game speed slider. The game moves a little to fast to follow everything that goes on. The pitcher, what he pitched, how fast, where. Did the hitter hit it? Did he reach on error. A slider to allow the game to be slowed down a bit would have been fantastic. On this note as well. A 'do not advance to next inning' option would have been great to. I had a couple times where a pitcher had a HORRID inning towards the end and would have liked to have made sure there was someone in the bullpen before the next part of the inning began.
The graphics. Everything works in windows, which is fine, I didn't have a problem with that. What I did think was a little blah was that the graphics were definitely sub par. Player graphics, when they were there, were jaggy. The fields in the middle of the screen all looked the same.
I wish there had been a training area. At least I didn't see one. Something where you could choose things the team needed to work on to get better. Or things that players needed to work on to get better. Batting practice. Pitching practice, fielding. Something to keep the players going in between games. With all the stuff you can do. You can't have the guys practice. Not that I found anyways.
Rosters. Even though I saved my roster movements. They never seemed to stick. I saved em, closed done, and moved on to the game. Trying to add batters into a roster who would be better against a certain pitcher. Or changing my pitcher to server better against the other team. It never stuck. My movements between minors and majors did. Not the roster changes though. Poo.

The wishlist. and mediocre stuff. I would liked to have something that showed me a batters hitting streak or cold streak. It would have been nice to see a hot/cold zone, for batter and pitchers as well. In the batting box. To help me when I was doing the pitching, and such. Minor things. I think they could have made the game more enjoyable though. I didn't find that I enjoyed being the manager that much. I enjoyed more, my ability to select who played and where. Which was still hampered, sadly.

In the end. I found that I really wanted to like this game. I kept coming back to it. I kpet trying to figure out what it was that I couldn't get done. Why it was that I couldn't get my line ups to stick. This game might be great for someone who is REALLY into the numbers, but I think that even then they might find some of it a little short sighted. While I found that I could just jump into the game. It was difficult to get a grasp on some of the things and how the worked. There were not patch notes. I looked on the website, and the forums for the game briefly and didn't see any mention of them. I simmed the game for the month, and The Tigers were in last. I simmed the game up to current, and The Tigers were in last. WAY last. While I don't expect the game to see the turn around that The Tigers have had this year. MANY of the other teams seemed out of place as well. If you have no way to imprive your players, or play, there really doesn't seem to be a reason to play the game. Even for stats and numbers. Why change the line up, if it's not going to matter in the end. Why trade or bring up other pitchers, if they are still just going to do crappy? I was sort of disappointed with what I got in Baseball Mogul 2007. Seeing some of the other games that have come out recently, or are due out soon, it seems that they might be the better way to go. I believe they are even in the same price range. I didn't play the 2006 version of this game, but I would have to say overall, this is just a average game. Average, to sub par graphics, in ability to really see any improvement in your players. Eh. I would really have to say pass on this one, unless you are REALLY into the numbers and what to get all the games.

If I had to rate it on a 1-100. No more than 70. I wasn't wow'ed by anything in this game, and while I felt the urge to come back. I still didn't find that I liked the game. It was more than I just really wanted to see if it was me or the game that wasn't cooperating.

April 1st.

o tonight, the clocks go forward a hour. I leae work about 1 am. Get home, eat and shower, and it will be suddenly like 3 AM. Normally this wouldnt be to bad, but then I have to be back up at 7 AM...:( Oh well, thems the breaks.

So Blizz annouced that Onyxia is broke right now. Hopefully they will fix her Tuesday during maintenance.

happy April Fools to everone by the way. so be on the lookout.

As always Blizz had something up thier sleeve.
http://www.blizzard.com/press/060401.shtml
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcrusade/townhall/wisps.html

i think i am going to be up for some Oblivion today. I had a quest the other day to help this guy in town. He asked me to go down the road, locate his sons, and help them fight the goblins raiding his farm. So I go down the road. Talk to his sons, and we walk to the farm. The goblins come, we fight, and his sons die. I walk back to town, tell him the goblins are dead, and oh yea, so are your sons. He's sad, tell me hes leaving to go hom and gather money to bury his sons. I go outside, wait around for a couple hours till its pitch black out, and pick the lock on his house, and murder him in his sleep. And so now I have a invite for the Thieves guild.

Oh well. i am sure I will have more to write tomorrow. Not that anyone really cares. its not like I write about super important things...:)

As it always is.

So as always, when I finally get to do something with the guild in Warcraft. it doesnt work. In the patch tuesday, they changed Onyxias pattern for her fight. And Wednesday night, was my first ever eOnyxia fight. So. Of Course. We died. And died again. And Again, and Again. Jeeez.

So we decided to make a trip through UBRS and at least get something accomplished for the night. Nothing caster-ish dropped. So I was left out for the most part really. I just went and played some KHII.

Which, by the way, I am loving. So far the story is great. The graphics are great. they changed the camera, which was everyones big complaint from the first game, and personally, I liked it better in the first game. They changed the stupid little gummi ship, and only having done it once, I can say its a HUGE improvement over the way it was.

Other than that stuff, nothing exciting. Next week is Romb Zombie, and I cant wait. The week after that is my Birthday, then my week off..:) I cant wait for that even more.

Frisbee golf yesterday wasnt to bad. I did alright, the grass wasnt to muddy, but WOW, they took out at least half the threes from the park. I think they had that emerald ash borer thats killing trees.

I got some pics from the Onyxia raid, i will post em tomorrow, just dont feel like it today.

Wednesday, March 29, 2006

Here we go again.

Here we go again. Well another day. At least its nice out. Seesm real nice, i might hit some frisbee golf today, gonna be muddy and watery, but thats all the more fun...:)

Kingdom hearts II. So far, so good. Good story. Great graphics. I just now, after 3 hours, really have hit the main part of the story. I have more problems with the camera as it is now, than the way it used to be. Oh well.

I love these Juliette Lewis albums. Pretty damn cool.

Total solar ecplise today. To bad you have to be in Africa to see it...:(

Hmmm...Oh, the Rob Zombie album, nice stuff. Sort of like the Hellbilly Delux album, but at the same time different. The only song, I am not really liking, and its growing on me anyways, is Foxy Foxy.

Onyxia tonight. I can't wait. I so wanna kill that damn big dragon. Prolly hit the middle eastern place for dinner.

Yesterday seemed to take forever. I dont know why.

Tuesday, March 28, 2006

Patch day, and so much more.

ts tuesday. patch day. Kingdom Hearts II day. i also believe, Rob Zombie new album day. Pick up my taxes and mail them day. feed the fish today. Lots of stuff day.

No patch notes. Not yet anyways.

VNV Nation. As they posted, will be here in the states sometime next year, but in a email i got from Roan, it looks like they might do another Dj set here this year. While not as cool as a full blown show, they are good DJ's and its cool to see em small, and get to talk with them.

Nothing super special to report. I dont work today, or tomorrow which is nice.

Still trying to push Snakes on A Plane. If you ask me what the movies about. i dont know what to tell you. The name pretty much says it all.

More later. Maybe some KHII impressions. Maybe not.

Sunday, March 26, 2006

Morning.

Well. It's been awhile. Not much to write about really. Not much going on, just work, and the normal life stuff.

Cat falls 80 feet from tree. Link.

Gonna be hit movie. I swear. SoaP
Snakes on a Plane. C'Mon.

Closing in on Rob Zombie show. Can't wait. Soulfly is coming soon as well, I think I might head to that too.

WoW news. Got my first piece of tier 1 epic mage armour. Arcanist's gloves. FINALLY! Should be keyed for onyxia by the time the raid comes around this wednesday. i can't wait.

Screenie from MC the other night. One of the bosses. I only managed to die, like 3 times, which wasnt to bad, since last time I died ALL the time. MAN, I always get stuck with the shitty healer.

Almost done with The Elegant Universe. Learned quite a bit actually. More than I thought I would get my mind around. Hmmm, what else. Oh.

Kingdom Hearts II, comes out Tuesday. I can't wait. I will make sure to have some reviews.

Lots of good games out right now. Godfather. Obilivion. MLB 2K6 coming out April 10th. Just picked up Dawn of War again, loving the exspansion. Necrons, titans, chaos, world eaters. I mean what more can you ask for.

I think thats all for now.

Stranger Danger.

WOW! This almost made me, I dont know, cry, scream, something. MSNBC was showing a clip from a news special to run later about kids being nabbed by strangers. They would put this little girl on the sidewalk, and as people would walk by a man would come along and grab her by the arm, and start to drag her off. The girl would start to scream, help me, your not my daddy, and people would just continue to walk right around them. Some looked, some just quickly walked away.

I have seen specials like this before. Parents who get rough with thier kids in public and what not. Now, i dont know what I would do if I saw someone try to walk away with a kid, but I know I would at least yell, or say something. I have yelled at parents before in public for hitting thier kids.

On a happier side note. Rob Zombies - Educated Horses. Not to shabby. Very much like Hellbilly. I think it will be a good show.

On a WoW note. ran Upper Blackrock spire last night, with my mage, and Magisters robes dropped. it was between me, and one other mage. I rolled a 1, on my 1-100 roll. Needless to say, I lost...:( I did get a piece for my Aszhara quest done, and the next step in my Onyxia Keyline quest done, so that was a benefit to going.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006

Argh!

MLB 06 The Show. Going back to the store. Wow. The umpire calling while neat at first, is SOOOOOO inconsistent that it makes the game unenjoyable. I can understand the strike zone moving a little. Or certain umpires calling pitches in a certain area different ways. When its the same ump, and the same catcher, and pitcher, in the same spot, and your still getting different calls, its not any fun.

joey wants to leave. OH MY GOD, THANK GOODNESS!!! I dont know what else to say on that. Leave, please. Let everyone in detroit get on with thier lives, with no Joey controversy.

I dont know if its just MLB that made me angry, or just a mood swing. But, I am angry. At me, at life, at games, everything. Oh well, I am sure I will get over it.

Wow.

ok, so the demo of Okami. WOW! Its nice to see a game so beautiful, and well thought out. Even from the demo, and the little bits it lets me play there. I cannot wait for this game.

here are some links to screenies of the game. http://www.1up.com/do/media?cId=3134928

Just beasutiful. You play a wolf, or the physical representation of one of the gods. You have a little faerie that follows you around, and tells you things. Ala, Windwalker. The voice is pretty annoying, but if you just hit the skip button, so that it only blabs a few nonsense words, its not to bad. The environments, in the demo, are beautiful. its hard to believe really.

The intro movie for FF XII is circulating now, it has a mix of music from FFV and FFVII in it. Hopefully this will be a good one.

Got today off, that will be nice, to bad about the freezing weather out there. Tomorrow is pay day, thats nice as well.

Tuesday, March 14, 2006

Hmm Pi

Well, I was searching around for the ALTKey combo for Pi, but I cant seem to find it. Anyways, its Pi day. Also Einsteins birthday. So, Happy PI Day.

New Search engine, that seems to be WAY more sensible than any previously out there. Accoona.
http://accoona.com/
It uses a form of AI to complete it searches, using the meanings of words when comined, not just the words seperately.

I am going to search for the demo for Okami today, I really want to give it a look.

Battlestar was great last night. This is one of the only TV series, thats not something informative that I watch on TV. Well family guy, and futurama besides. The acting is great, the effects are great, and the story line is fantastic as well.

pat Robertson putting his foot in his mouth again. Claiming that followers of islam are lead by deminc forces, and they are out to conquer the world. Wow, that man needs to just shut his yapper.

Anyways, off to the store to find the mag with the demo..:)

Epic Horse pics

As promised the other day.

Tra la la.

Eh, another Sunday. The week went by kinda fast. A little to fast really.

Saw Walk The Line. Really good movie. The music, and singing were great, and it was well acted, and well written. Also saw, Goblet of Fire. Not as good as I expected really. I didnt like the book as much as the others, so I venture that might be why I didnt like the movie as much.

MLB 06 The Show. Everyday I play this, something new amazes me about it. There are some bugs that I have run across, but there is a lot of good here. I had a line shot on the ground down the first base line. The 1st baseman dives for the ball, stopping it, and from the ground tosses it to the pitcher whos running over to the bag. He catches it, in time time get the runner out. Close play. On the following play I chop a ball to the Shortstop, kinda slow on the hop, he catches the ball and throws it to 1st, catching the runner out. The runner then confronts the Umpire on first, and they get into a arguement which ends with my player being tossed from the game. For some reason, with a runner on third, 2 times, I have had a slow grounder to 2nd or 2rd, and if I run the guy home I can catch them throwing the ball home, and turn to run back to third. Instead of throwing the ball to 3rd they throw it to 2nd. THis happened twice. One time, the catcher actually chased my runner up the base line, and as he pulled away tossed the ball to 2nd. Not sure if this is a fielding bug based on my choice of difficulty, or if its a programming thing. Exploit sort of thing.

Picked up the Namco classics with Pac-man and what not the other day.

JUST missed out the other night on getting my first piece of Tier 2 armour from MC. At least it went to the mage I got to join the guild..:) Maybe next time. Leveling my hunter up now, though I am not sure what I want to do, thinking I might want to level a rogue as we are short rogues, and I see a crapload of raogue gear drop.

As Queen comes up on Winamp, I recall friday night as I watched the Queen with Paul Rodgers concert on Tv. WOW. T3h SuXX0r. I cant even think of anything more to say about it. It was that bad. I am so glad I didnt pay 80 bucks for tickets for that show here.

Tuesday, March 07, 2006

Busy day.

Got a busy day ahead of me. Bottles back to the store. Haircut, taxes to be done, and I want to stop and get some new jeans as well. Stop and get the new Potter from the vid store as well as Walk The Line. Dont know how I am going to fit it all in.

Oh well. i am sure I will manage.

On a cool note, The GF bought me my epic mount yesterday, for my mage. AWESOME stuff. Cool glowing undead horse. I will have pics tomorrow prolly as servers are down for Maint. this morning.

So, either way, it should be a good day.

Slow Week

Well, its pretty much just been a slow week. Nothing special goin on. reserved my copy of Kingdom Hearts II, bought a copy of MLB 06 'The Show'. I am really liking it so far. The batting is hard for me, at least right now. I need to get a hang of the fielding as well. The commentary seems really good so far too. I think its got some long playabtility.

WoW has been slow this week as well. I have barely played at all. Went through Dire Maul the other night to get the water for my mage, and thats about all I have done this week. No late runs, nothing, really. Maybe next week, I can hit part of Molten Core, since I dont close on Saturday.

I really have just been doing a lot of reading, and TV watching. Its a nice break from WoW. halfway through The Elegant Universe, and I am really enjoying the book. I watched Philidelphia yesterday, for the first time, and man it was a great movie. Tom Hanks is a fantastic actor. So is Denzel Washington. I still cant figure out why it is that if Antonia Banderas isnt the macho guy, whos always something strange.

Oh well. Nothing real special, I dont think.
Intereting Links, I guess.
Cosmic Varience
A blog of a physicist. Interesting stuff, esepcially on the new computer thats running, while not running.
Brokeback Mount Doom
Funny clips of LoTR clipped with the Brokeback music.

The Elegant Univese

Not so elegant it seems. To me anyways. I always had a problem with the partical wave theory of light. That it not only acts like a partical, but also acts like a wave. In school when they told me, I just didnt understand, and reading two chapters on it now. I just dont understand. My mind understands how it works, but not why. I always felt sort of dumb for this. BUT. reading on, i find that even physicists today dont understand WHY it acts like that. They just know it does. I guess its faith..:)

There was a quote from a physicist about Quantum Mechanics, that, if you dont get dizzy from thinking about it, then either it wasnt explained to you properly, or you didnt read it well enough. this book certainly does that to me at times. From what I had previously read about Quantum theory, it seemed to me so much more orderly than other physics. it seemed to make sense, but now, reading deeper into it. It doesnt make any sense at all. It seems to be randomness, and uncertainty. And I guess thats really what it is. Maybe after this, I will have to go back and finish the book on Omega to see if I get it...:)

Sadness

And Remorse.

I have always been a firm believer that you can't feel a emotion if you dont know it for real. Love, remorse, regret, things like that. You can say you feel love, or regret, but you arent always sure. People always say 'you know' when you are in love. Its true. You know when you really regret something as well.

Right now, I am so sad for all my friends I made in WoW, over a year ago. We were such a good group. We moved to another guild, when our started to fall, and were mislead into what we got there. And it ripped some of the friendships apart. Now, after all this time. Even the ones who are there are now having problems. I fell really responsible for it. I feel sadness for them, and mad at myself.

I am sure in the end, it will work out. But in the meantime its tough, and hurts.

Yates.

Yea, they rejected Andrea yates not guilty plea. At least they were smart. I cant believe that suddenly they thought maybe they could get her out. Look. You killed your kids. You drowned them. You knew what you were doing. You called the cops and your husband as soon as you had done it.

Stupid.

No WoW, this morning. Its Tuesday..:) Got Mindtap Talisman the other night from Dire Maul. It goes along well, with the rest of my regen gear.

On a side note. The red betta is back in the 10 gallon, and the blue is now in the small 1 gallon to try and get his fins healed. nothing majorly new, I suppose. Happy Fat Tuesday. I just cant wait for my packzis'. Mmmm.

I am thinking about getting this ring they sell in Australia, thats supposed to stop snoring. I guess it work on the accupuncture points in your finger. its only 40 bux, so I mean, if it works, YEA, and if not. it was only 40 bux..:)

Molten Core (Now with MORE pictures)

Here we go again.

Lets see. Don Knotss died today. I dont remember Andy griffith show that much, but I remember watching Three's Company all the time at my grandmothers, with her and my mom.

The father from A Christmas Story also died today.

The fish all seem to be doing much better after 'The Fight'. Healing nicely.

So Friday night, I closed at work. Didnt get home till almost 1am. Kinda sucky, figured I would come home, watch some TV, maybe play some Winning 11. Nope. I got a invite to Molten Core. WHICH, i was supposed to have done the week before but didnt get hom till to late last week at 11:30 PM. Wow they must have been running late. Heres some screenies from the effort though.

well, apparently there wont be any pics yet as photobucket is being wierd. So maybe soon. nothing special really.

Saturday, February 25, 2006

yea.

Managed to get home from work last night about 1 AM. Man, that sucked. It was pretty busy for dinner, and then ended up staying busy the rest of the night. At 11:30, we had about 6 tables come in, and we close at 12. So, we didnt finish being done till about 12:35. Not to bad really, but man, I wanted to go home.

I walked in and The GF said they had room for me in Molten Core, so instead of showering, I logged in, and headed to Molten Core. WAY easier than I expected it to be for a new person like me. Didnt get any loot or anything, but I had a good time. We got to Domo, and wiped 2 times. once because apparently one of the tanks, who was playing from work, was AFK. And the 2nd time becuase someone walked to close to the Mobs before we were ready and aggroed them all. Then people had to start leaving, for sleep reasons. Oh well. next time maybe. I dont have the fire resist yet to fight Ragnaros, but soon.

We watched 'Waiting', Thursday night. Hehe, way funnier than I thought it would be. Good movie. Funny glimpse into restaurant work. Overboard, but still true in so many ways.

I have a couple pics from MC, I will get them up tomorrow.

Downloading.

grabbing the demo for Star Wars: Empire at War. The commercials made it look good, but, I havent seen any reviews for it. Thought I would check it out. My other gaming option would be to pick up Dawn of War, and its Exspansion, for 10 bux less than SW would cost me.

Checking my blue crowntail, it looks like he is aleady starting to heal up, so that makes me happy, hopefully within the week the red will look good enough to go back to his big home.

Lagfest 2006

So I RUSH home form work last night. Hoping to see some of the opening of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj on my WoW Server (whisperwind). I log in, and there are just bodies everywhere. Apparently they werent waiting till 5 PM to do it. They opened em before that, so when I logged in, everything was pretty much done. Except for the huge MOBs wandering around. MAN, was it laggy too. Normally I have a REAL nice connection. Last night. NO WAY! I did manage to grap a couple screen caps.

So there they are. Nothing special really. But they were big. I can't wait to get inside the new instance. get some good loot.

On a completely different note. So I was sitting here yesterday at the computer, and I glance over at the 10 gallon split tank, and think wow, those fish look real close to each other. Then both my bettas swim to the farm left of the tank, ON THE SAME SIDE. So i go running to the kitchen, and get the small net, take the lid off, and manage to fish the red betta out and back to his side. The damage has been done though. He got pretty beaten up on that side, so I had to take him out, and put him in a 1 gallon all by himself. I put the new crowntail in there though, and removed a bunch of water. I had heard that bettas were jumpers, now I have seen it first hand. Lets just hope the red gets better now.

Apparently there is a new Guns N Roses album coming out. Should be interesting to see what he does with it.

The Big, Not So Easy.

Ok, Wow. I had to do my first 10 gallon full change in my aquarium, and man it was a task. I am glad I wont have to do that often. had to get both fish out. Then all the plants and rocks. Then half the water, so that I could move it. Then, the gravel. Then add the undergravel filter in. Then put the gravel back in, then half the water. Then move it. Then the rest of the water, then the plants, and rocks, then the fish. PHEW! I hope I dont have to do that again, anytime soon. The fish who was stuck on the side with the powerful filter blowing him around seems much happier already though. So hopefully his fins will get better, like the reds did when I moved him into the big tank.

Work sucks. I was thinking today, that if the guy we are missing IS in jail we would hear today from him, BUT, its a holiday. So he wont be able to call. Should be interesting to see if he does come back. I need to get ahold of my dad and see if he knows anyting about this guy. BUSY BUSY and MORE BUSY, last weekend. Today should be more of the same.

I need to get some serious WoW in, I barely played at all last week. :) Anyways. Nothing majorly new really though at all.

Sunday, sunday....

Well, its sunday morning. Again. :) Amazing how it manages to show up every week. Oh well.

So. Got a new digital camera. retty nice, paid 229 for it. Got a new crowntail. hadn't planned on picking anything up at the pet store the other day, but he was so nice, i couldnt pass him up.

Well, the cook at work he tends to show up either drunk, hungover, or like he's been drinking all day, was no call, no show, Thursday. Friday, and Saturday. I have no real belief that he's going to call or show today. He either quit, or is in jail. If he's in jail, we won't hear anyting till Monday. Looks like I am pretty much the sole sautee cook now.

Azuregos again the other day. Again, nothing for casters. Stupid Dragon. I figure eventually he will have something worthwhile for me to show up there.

Either way. Nothing special going on really. I made a alliance Night Elf warrior, and The GF made a Druid, so I am thinking that maybe we should start our own guild. I dont know though really, as I dont want to be in charge of anyting. I have had that experience before, and it wasn't all that exciting.

Oh well. I need to get the water changed in the one gallon that I put the new betta in, and I want to do some dishes. I just finished reading Condemnation. Book III in the War of The Spider Queen Trilogy. It was very well written, and fast paced. It really made me want to see what was going to happen next. The fights were well thought out. MAN, did it not end the way I expected though. I can't wait to get ahold of the next book.

Now I am going to start reading. The Elegant Universe. A sort of 'beginners' book on String Theory and M-Theory and things like that.

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

Tuesday Maint. day.

Damn. Forgot, somehow, that today was Tuesday. I was hoping to get some time in with my rogue before work. Oh well. On the bright side, last night, Vines invited Nicole and I to join the guild in Undead Strat. After waiting for sometime, outside the gate, and watching them wipe in the process of coming to us, they FINALLY got there. My mage set legs and belt dropped last night. VERY NICE. With my gloves that gives me the first set bonus.

So the other day. It came at the right time, and it was fantastic for me in more ways than one.

Happy Valentines day. To whomever, I supose.

Haven't got to see much of the Olymipcs, really. Wish I could see more. I have the next two days off and that is going to be soooooo nice. I have been doing WAY more reading lately, and its been nice as well.

Oh well, nothing else really.

Sunday, February 12, 2006

Well, its been a week again.

So. It's Sunday. Again. Wow. I think I really need some time off or something. Something is wrong with me lately. I get angry very easily. I am unhappy a lot as well. Maybe its just the way things have been going lately. I am going to talk to The GF today, and see maybe if we can work some things out. We both will be home from work early enough to sit and talk.

Now for something completely different. The Olympics. What can I say, really no US coverage again. Unless it happens to be a even with someone they think is going to do well. Bode Miller, who? Oh yea, he only got 5th place. Michelle Quan. Hmm? Oh yea, had to step down. Wow, I dont know who I feel worse for, the girl she replaced who though she was going to miss the opportunity of a life time. Or Michelle herself, for displacing someone claiming she could do it, then having to admit in front of the world, that she could not. Canadian womens hockey. WOW! I thought if anyting the russian ladies would be able to put a stop to em. Nope.

Hit level 60 in WoW. Now I just got to work on the high end quests to get my keys and such so that I can go on the big stuff, with the big kids..:) been raiding Upper Blackrock Spire, almost every night to try and get my Tier 1 epic mages robes. The night that I am tired and dont go. They drop. The other raids. All fricking warrior gear. Bah!

Valentines day coming up, and to boot, The Gf works Tuesday with me. Then Wednesday and Thursday which I have off, so we cant even go to dinner or anyting. Maybe late wednesday or something.

Really need to get a under gravel filter for the fish tank. My crowntail is sitting against the plat in the corner so much, i think he's hurting his fins. Meanwhile the red veil tail on the other side is GROWING, like you wouldnt believe. His fins, which looked sort of shredded for the time I have had him, now look as if they are growing new fin.

Picked up. The Elegant Universe. Its a book that gives some of the basic principles of String Theory and M-Theory. As always new science and physics always interests me.

*Updated with a picture of me hitting 60*

Nothing

Nothing much really, today. I have to work in a couple hours. Its cold out. I am kinda depressed. On the bright side, I have tomorrow and the next off. I should hit 60 in WoW, with my mage tonight.

Other than that, I got nothing.

Wire tapping.

Ok. Really until this goes to a court, and before a judge, we wont really get to know whats going on. But I really dont agree with the government, just taking from me. Ask. People are willing to give, when asked. Not only is taking the way they did it against the law, but, they could have asked. They didnt go get the warrants AFTER they tapped, which they can do. They dont need it before hand. Whats so hard about going before a judge to get a warrant after the fact, IF, you had just cause? Nothing in my opinion.

Now, they are saying out of 1000's. Not 1000, but, multiple 1000's of taps done a year. Less than 10 were people who had triggered a word. That leads me to believe that whats goin on isnt right either. Yes. People have said they dont mind. Thats how things start though. You take a little and a little, and no one notices. Until, suddenly, you really dont have anyting left to give.

Also, if the government doesnt need to be checked in this. Whats to stop them from just saying that you did something? It never stopped other governments. Chinese. Russian. Nazi's. Someones word, or the governments word was enough to take you away. I really hope we can get this under control before it gets out of hand even more.

dreaming.

So, i was at a baseball game wth my brother, or someone. Sitting there watching the game, and we got up from our seat, to move around and try some other seats.

We moved down closer to the field, and I sat on one side of the row, and the person I was with moved to the otherside. Suddenly, one of my ex girlfriends was there. Touching me. She did this wierd straddle to get over into the seat next to me. She was wearing a skirt, and it flipped up a bit as she did so. It then dawned on me, that it wasnt my brother I was here with, but my GF, and I was trying to get my ex to stop, a minute so that I could explain. But then we were in a bed together, and across the room, my gf was in another bed. i got out of bed, triein to get my ex off me, and as I stood, she got up and clung onto me, and I tried to hurry out of hte room ebfore my GF saw, but she was watching. ANGRY. So i went into the living room turned the TV and my EX disappeared into another room, and I went to head back into the bedroom to talk to my GF about what happened, but she had gotten up, and locked herself in the bathroom.

I woke before anyting else happened. And I feel bad. I feel bad for a dream. I dont know why.

its the same old.....same old situation.....

Enough Poison. But it is really the same old situation. Just when I think I am all good to go, more bills pop up that are late. its a good thing I got paid, but now I got to go and pay DTE. Oh well. That's life.

I think I am going to stop and pick up The Corpse Bride. I really wanted to see it. Course, I dont know if its worth buying, maybe I should give it a rent first? Though I love Tim Burton stuff.

Ok, they release Andrea Yates today. For a re trial. becuase they feel the jury didnt take into account her insanity plea. COME ON! The women drowned her own kids, then called her husband, or the police, I cant remember, and told them she did it.

Am I glad I am not a miner in Virginia. WOW, are they having all kinds of problems.

Girl at work and one of her friends have rented a apartment for a month, in France. 690, or something like that. WAY cheaper though, than staying in a hotel for a month, thats for sure. Furnished and everything, AND kitchen and what not. Pretty cool idea. Sounds like a great idea really. Something I might consider in the future as well.

Almost done with The Order of the Pheonix book. I just cant seem to put down the Haryy Potter novels when I start reading one.

Oh well. Its my day off, so I am going to try and enjoy it. Be well.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

Hmmm

So, I had been thinking. How many of the 'wierd disappearances' or killings that happen in the US, are related to Serial killers that just don't have a profile yet? WEll according to the US Governement. 35-50 Serial Killers are on the loose in the US. Wow. Way more than I expected. That means there are 35-50 people in the US, who are killing, or have killed multiple people with some sort of pattern to it. And we dont know what that pattern is.

As I sit here, Judge Alito is now confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice. 58-42. I really hope he sticks to his words of being imparital and non partisian in his decisions.

New video of the woman from michigan who was kidnapped and held hostage in Iraq has surfaced. She's alive. Like everyone expected. I don't know much about the video. Since we never get to hear them. Oh well.

I hope I can get out of work early today.....Argh. I dont want to close. Also. texas Roadhouse near us had a fire in thier vent system. Which lends to the belief that either they dont have them cleaned regularly, or the company that did clean them, did not do it properly. Apparently the firemen who came in had to rip parts of the ceiling out to get at the fire. might be good for our busniess

No return call on the job that I called back. Oh well.

Take 2? Going Down?

So anyways. Got this from Dubious Quality. Bill has been following the Take 2 thing closely. So far his guesses have almost been spot on.

(http://www.nypost.com/business/62365.htm):
January 28, 2006 -- With its cash dwindling and regulators circling, the edgy Take Two Interactive is looking for a financial lifeline from buyout firms.

Take Two, which makes the popular "Grand Theft Auto," has been "in active talks" with several buyout firms over the past week, souces told The Post.

The funds were not identified.

"For a fund, it is a bet that the cash flows from sales of 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' and 'Liberty City Tales,' and new management could get around the growing liabilities," said a source close to the company.

So, there ya go. He's been calling it for some time, and I have been talking about it too.

Anyways. Weekend blew. Work sucked. Every day I go in, makes me want to find a new job now. It's getting bad. Saturday night, there was a magician. he didnt just walk in. The owner hired him. WOW! Gonna tell us all we cant afford to have people there, and cut hours, and then hire cooks, servers, dishers, hostesses, and a fricking Magician. Oh well.

Saturday, January 28, 2006

Wow, its been a few days.

Lots of interesting things in the news. Some reported by other friends, and people, and other stuff, just all over the news.

gaming Stuff: No more mostly naked booth babes at E3, this year. Big deal. Yea some of they were either in cool outfits, or some were nice to look at. Maybe its just me, but I didnt think many of them were that great looking to begin with.

2nd: Take 2 industries, or whatever they are. Your favorite company that sells GTA and stuff like that. Looks like they are going under fast. Thier stock fell 19% at one point yesterday, and finsihed at -13%. They are about to be indicted it looks like, for finanace fraud, and ALL SORTS of people are leaving the company. Now its not that they dont have money. Its that they have been lieing about how much they are making.

Civ IV. Picked it up last week, after the X Mas party, since I got a 20 dollar gift card. Liking it more than I thought I would. Nice graphics, great music. I wish I was able to follow the tech tree a bit more. I did win my first ever CIV game though. With the egyptians. Took out the russians early. Then the Japanese, and I was in the process of killing the Incas, when I built the UN, and was voted Secretary General. And voted for Diplomatic win. WHich I got as I was using stealth bombers to bomb the Incan Capitol.

Political Stuff: Hamas won a democratic election in Gaza. President Bush then tells the current 'president' there to NOT step down. Ummm, doesnt that make you a dictator then? Just because Bush feels he has the right to do as he pleases here, doesn't mean that other people are willing to do that as well. it just goes to show that the majority of people over there, seem to really not like Jewish people. It could be bad news, but it could not. I am sure we will see.

More hostages. When will they stop asking for the release of ALL prisoners. On top of the fact that the US does not negotiate with terrrorists, why would you ask for EVERYONE to be realeased when it hasnt worked in the past?

Alito looks like he will be given the seat. I am sort of half and half on this. He seemed OK, to me when they talked to him, but I would have really liked to have heard some good stuff from him, instead of the usual run around. I wish the people in ALL the government would stop with the run around. Wont happen.

20 years since challenger. I was in 5th grade, I think. I remember I was at school. St Angelas. Our 8th grade science teacher was one of the finalists for the flight. Like one of the last 10 or something like that. I remember seeeing teachers, and nuns in the halls crieing. Coming back from lunch. I think it was 5th grade, cuz I think I was there with Bob, who I am still friends with. Wow.

12 years since my mom died. Time has flown by. Wow.

I have to call another restaurant about a job. I would really like to be making some nice food. Since it seems that I wont be anyting but a sautee cook at this place. And I am really just tired of all the crap. They know people dont and cant do thier jobs, and they continue to let them work. Wow. I mean they could do it with half as many people if they got good people to do the job.

Oh well, I think thats all for now..:)

Monday, January 23, 2006

Ow

X Mas Party for work. Headache. Meant lots of imbibing. It's really not to bad. Just a mild headache, which I can cure with some caffeine, some water, and a vitamin.

Everyone was happy with the small gifts. Well all two that I gave out. I got myself a 20 dollar gift card to Best Buy, GF got us a gift certificate for Chiles. After we got home, she spent a couple hours sleeping around the toilet...:) I dont think she had any problems while in there, so bravo for her..:)

Anyways. Thats about it.

Saturday, January 21, 2006

Its been a few.

Well, it's been a few days, and I know I haven't had much to say. Same shit. Different day. Work. Home. Work. Home. Same old, told ya. I am looking at getting a cheap digital camera this pay, maybe. Something under 200 bux, and I saw one that seemed ok for what I want it for, for about 90 bux.

The fish are coming along nicely. Well, the two bettas. Anyways. Since the red one managed to catch and kill the other neons in with him. Other than that they seem happy.

had to get up early to take the GF to work, so I took a small nap, and now I am burning CD's as a gift for one of the waitresses at work. I asked her before X mas if she had em and she told me, 'no'. My plan has been all along for her to get them at the X mas party, which is this coming Sunday.

I think I might start to do reviews of the palces I go to eat. For anyone out there who reads this, it might give some nice alternatives for places to eat.

As a side not. I made level 55 the other day, so now I should be able to start my Onyxia key line stuff. AND, I am trieing to get a copy of Advents Children on DVD. We shall see.

Wednesday, January 18, 2006

Snow.

Wow, its nice to see some snow again out there. They said a coating, but thats more than just a coating.

All's well in the fish tank. So it seems anyways. The red and blue bettas are busy lfaring at each other, the neon tetras are busy staying away from the red fish. I'm not sure at all, that I like the filter though. I may have to switch to under gravel right away, it looks like the one now is a bit to powerful for the fish.

reallyl looking forward to some WOW playing these next couple days.

fighting with the GF over some stupid shit right now too.

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

mmm, tomorrow off.

I can't wait. Its payday this week, and I believe we get our W-2 forms as well. I sooo want to get my taxes done this year, and get a new car. or a new used car. Get rid of this piece that I am driving. It gets me where I need to be though, so that works.

Well, the red betta managed to catch and destroy one of the Neon Tetras. So shouldn't have to feed him for awhile. I am thinking Might move the crowntail into the other side tomorrow. I want to get some more plants as well as a hiding place for the tetras.

Nothing exciting going on really. X mas party this weekend at work, finally. Should amusing to say the least.

Work. We are removing rib eyes from the menu. It's the only steak that we cut ourselves. Everything else comes vac-packed. Its a good steak, and it looks nice. Our owner thinks we dont sell any. During the week, not usually. On the weeked, while we dont sell as many as the smaller vac-packed steaks, it doesnt go to waste, we sell a whole one. We are replacing it with a Chicken Portabella Pizza. Ummm, why? No one ate that when it was on the menu previously. Not to mention we have a few regulars who come in JUST for the rib eye.

Here's what i think. Our owner, is the owner of another store as well. In Birch Run. It's been there something like 9 years. They do more money than we do. My guess would be because we are in a really bad spot of the strip mall we are in. Yes, there is a movie theatre, but its on the oposite side of the lot, and there is no direct drive to our building. Which hurts Us i think. Also, our owner thinks we dont sell anyting. Sort of like little brother complex. Our numbers are never as good as our big brother, so therefore, we must not sell anything. We always run out of stock. never have enough people, or just are plain short and behind when he sets things up in the morning. Friday night, we will have 100 small pizzas par baked, and we sell about 250. he will insist that 100 is enough, then is surprised when we run out at like 6 PM, and are open for another 6 hours. He managed to amaze that employees and even the managers, with the way he does things. When you tell him something, he agrees with you, then wanders off, to do nothing about it. When something is broke, you can tell him for weeks, and he just insists its not.

Our Salamander. The thing you melt cheese in. Burgers, Parmasean, things like that. Broke last year. You could actually grab the rake out of it wth your bare hand, and it was barely warm. He insisted, for MONTHS, that it just needed to be cleaned. FINALLY, right before X Mas, we got maintenance in to look at it. And it needed 3 new parts. We got 2 of them. And it was working nice. but never got the third part. HELLO! It's just going to break again, and we will need new parts for it. Its the small things like this that really grate on my nerves.

MLK Day

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

This was in 1963. in April of 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, was shot and killed on the balcony of a motel. 1968. I was born in 1973. A mere 5 years later. I know my parents were around. Unless they were 5 when they had me.

How much longer would things have continued the way they were if he had not been killed? 10 years? 15 Years? 20 Years? 1988, in the midst of metal excess, and motley crue, and poison, and all the coke, would black people still be turned away from jobs? Would black people still have been turned away from poll places? Would people in America still turned a blind eye to the situation in the US?

We still have problems today. Even near 40 years later. People say we don't need affirmative action. Yet, people still attack minorities in this country, becuase they ARE minorities. Is affirmative action sort of a double edged sword. Yes. People who areon't qualified do get jobs they shouldn't. The qualified ones find ways to get things done. Some minorities in this country are given more than enough opportunity to repair damages done, and still complain. People will always complain.

I can't even imagine a world in the early 80's or late 80's where black people would still be treated like they had been in the 60's. Sitting in the back of restuarants. Sitting in the back of busses.

If you have never heard the full 'I have a dream..." Speach. American Rhetoric
Check it out there. Great speach.

46 & 2

Another week gone by already. 2006. Any different from 2005? Let's hope so. I think soon you will see the Dems and Reps gear up for the election.

Lost one of the neon tetras to the intake on the filter in the tank. One of the small ones. I moved the one into the other side now, so there are 3 in one half of the tank. I will prolly make sure to have some sort of plant near that intake, so as to make sure the betta doesnt get his fins sucked up in there at all. Payday next week, gonna try and get at least a couple plants for in there. I am just not seeing things I like.

Work was pretty busy last night, and tonight, and tomorrow, should be nuts as well. I think this is one of the few places that I have worked where MLK day made us way busier. Maybe there was something else going on around there the last two years to contribute, but not that I was aware of.

WoW, is coming along nicely Ran some of Black Rock Depths last night, with some other guys. It wasn't the greatest, but at least I got in. Should be 53 soon. It will be interesting to see the guild run BWL next week. I should be along there within a month. I should be on Onyxia raid within two weeks.

Movies: Skeleton Key. Not to bad. Interesting story, and twist. Worth a rent I would say.

I can really see why the theatres haven't been doing well. None of the movies I have rented to watch have really been all that great. So why would I want to pay 9 bux to go see one. GF and I saw King Kong and it was a pretty good movie DEFINITELY a must see for Kong fans, I think. Really a must see in a BIG theatre. The only movie we have rented that I really wish I had seen in the theatre was War of the Worlds. It wasn't even that great of a movie, really. Would have been cool to see the effects on the big screen though.

Playoffs. Not even really had a chance to follow any of the games. Once I got knocked out of the fantasy league. I kinda stopped paying attention, and my work schedule has REALLY not been kind to football watching. I don't think I am going to get the Super Bowl off either, which kinda sucks. I worked X-Mas eve. New Years Eve. New Years Day. Thats the way it goes, I guess. Sucks.

Friday, January 13, 2006

Added Note.

As a added note. Happy Friday the 13th to everyone. This should make work very interesting.

Stopped at the pet store, got my freshwater test kit. Tests the ammonia, Nitrate, PH, and nitrite levels of the water. Everything seems to be where it should be for day one of the tank..:) I bought 4 Neon Tetras, and added 2 to each side of the tank. its pretty empty in there right now. Gravel....and.....water...:) I dont have the cash right now to buy any plants for in there. And its on the kitchen table that never gets used, until I can get a stand. GF might get one for me, since the tank was only 40 bux. At least I hope she does since, 40bux for X Mas from her would really suck some major ass.

And Again.

Again. Its dark enough out from cloud cover, that I have to have lights on in the house at 10AM. It makes me so sleepy.

SAt around yesterday with the GF, played WoW. We went to dinner. Her treat, since last week, she bugged me to do stuff then 2 hours in, when it was to late, decided that she was bored, but didnt want to go anywhere.

We went to Ruby Tuesdays. 40 Bux for App, two drinks, a dinner, and a sandwich. Not to bad, for the quality really. It was OK. Being a cook though. I really expect more.

Came home, set up my ten gallon tank to cycle, and played more WoW, and made level 52...:) Cruising right along.

I have to stop today after I take her to work, and get a pair of guppiies to put in the tank, and a PH test kit as well.

Prolly a couple snails too. Hopefully the bettas will be pleased.

Thursday the 12th

43 out right now, its supposed to hit 50. in january? MAN, are we in for some B.A.D. snow storms sometime soon.

Going out tonight, but not sure what I want to do. Something fun. Something different.

Still watching the Judge Alito hearings in front of the Supreme Court. not sure I really like this guy. Oh well. More hard times for the US ahead.

Tuesday, January 10, 2006

Ho Hum.

Welp. it's Tuesday. Umm, that's about it. Been watching the Supreme Court hearings on Alito, and yesterday, I really had a good feeling about this guy. Today. Not so much. He really seems to be worried about some of his answers to questions. He's on his heels already, and the day just began.

I also have been researching plants for my fish tank, that I don't have yet. Java fern, Java Moss, Rice Patties. I want to find silk, or soft plastic plants similar to these for the tank when I get it up.

Got tomorrow off, and that will be nice. I am really looking forward to it this week.

On a gaming note. Bill harris, who's blog I read pretty religiously, has posted about a letter he sent to the ESRB inquiring about the rating process. Dubious Quality. Also, something I agree with, is that he thinks there will be a new rating system soon. I think so as well. They need to jump on the boat before the government comes on and takes over the helm. If they don't do something, I think government intervention in this matter will seriously hurt the gaming industry.

Monday, monday.

Welp, I managed to make it through the weekend, though yesterday at work, I really thought I was at my boiling point.

I walk in yesterday, and the managers tell me about how slow its been all day. Awesome, just the sort of day I am looking for. I peek into the kitchen, and see the manager/cook guy leaning on the counter, just talking to people. Servers, cooks, whatever. I walk in the back, and the morning sautee guy goes.

'It's empty up there.'

Great. Why? If it's been slow all day, why the hell is it empty up there?

So I change, head up there, nothing much going on, the manager/cook, heads down to the other side of the kitchen line, to the pizza side. I start opening the coolers. Empty. Freezer, Empty. WHY!? So I start making a list. A Long list of the things I need to bring up there.

Meanwhile, it's starting to get busy. Not to busy. But for one person busy. I got about 10 orders I am trieing to cook, as well as find the items to cook them with. I look down on pizza, and there are 2 managers, and 3 cooks, down there. Only one cook is actually doing some work. 2 Cooks, and 2 Managers standing there, talking to each other.

Ummmm....HELLO! Its busy and you morning people didnt do SQUAT! This is my daily ritual on the weekends, and its really starting to get to me. I can take my weeks paid vacation soon, and I cannnot wait. Hopefully next pay we will get our tax forms, I can turn mine in, get my refund, and take my vacation. I wanted to wait till around my birthday, like I did last year. But I think I might take it early, not real sure.

Anyways. That was my day. Hopefully today, since its monday it will be slow.

sundays....argh

Argh, another one of these. Late night from work, then have to be up to take the GF to work in the morning. I hate it. I can't wait till we get another car. Lately, I had been going back to bed after dropping her off, but I thought that today, I might struggle through it, and get some Warcraft stuff taken care of. I really miss not hitting 50 this week. But I might be able to get damn close to 49 before I head off to work.

i would really like some new music, but a lot of the bands that I listened to have done NOTHING. And I mean nothing. Wow, its been slow. Guess, I am going to have to find some new music to listen to or something.

Auto Show starts this week here in Detroit. I didn't go the last couple years, but, I am interested in going this year, I dont know if I will make it though. I will have to see if I can get my brother to attend or something.

Other than that, nothing majorly exciting.

Movies.

Ok, two nights ago, we watched Wedding Crashers. Good movie. I dont think it was as good as people made it out to be, but it was a good movie. Funny in the begining and funny at the end, but slow in the middle. I would still recommend a rent.

Now. Excorcism of Emily Rose. I heard mixed reviews on this one. Great, or sucky. No middle ground. Personally, I thought it was a good movie. Not surperb by any manner, but good. I think the problem was, that by the trailer, people were mis led. THis is not really a horror movie. Its a drama, with some supernatural thrown in. I also like movies like this based off true story. So after the movie, I went online to look up information on it. Couple of the GLARING changes.

Name: Anneliese Michel
Location: Bavaria
Period: Late 70's.

Reading the wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anneliese_Michel there was some other interesting information as well. I recommend this as a rent as well. In the end if was thourght provoking. I wouldnt mind seeing if I can find the book that the doctor wrote on the subject.

Friday

Welp, its Friday. I think this weekend should be pretty slow at work. First weekend after a major holiday. People are tired from being out and about for the holidays.

Watched the clip of O'Reilly on david Lettermans show. Eh. I think it was more a tie. It was nice to see O'Reilly out of his safe little bubble on FOX though.

Pat Robertson. How many time does this guy have to put his foot in his mouth, before people realize hes a cook. He's claiming that The Israeli Prime Ministers stroke was sent by god, for his attempt to divide 'god's land'.

I mean this guy has enough followers who can pretty much control any vote made in the US, if they all band together. Crazy.

Picked up Dangerous Waters from Best Buy, yesterday. VERY interesting game. The graphics aren't top notch or anything, but its a thorough game. Not flashy or anything, not fast paced. But it sure does have a good feel to it. And I suck at it.

I dont think anyone really reads this. BUT. I am going to be getting a 10G fish tank for my bettas soon, and I would really like to set up something very natural looking for them. If anyone has bettas, suggestions would be appreciated.

Friend of mine sent me this interesting 'politcal' link.
http://www.archive.org/stream/ill-art/spin.mp4
Its a hour long, or about that, but pretty interesting. Give it a look.

Diluted

Morning.

Nothing much to say. No Work. It's Raining. I think I might go for sushi for lunch. It's been awhile. There is a place down the street from me called Osaka, and they have always have great food when I went in. Maybe some green tea, I don't really know yet.

Thomas Hernes. The Boxer. Former Heavyweight Champion of the world was charged with child endangerment and some other charges after he punched his son. News came out that his son threw the first punch. Ummmm...... if your dad is a former heavyweight champion, I don't care how made you get. Throwing a punch at him seems like a bad idea.

That would have been like Brandon Lee getting mad at his dad one day and trying to pull off a roundhouse kick on him. And then....Darkness. There would be no more Brandon Lee. He would have been lieing there like a pile of crumpled clothes.

Nothing else really. I want to do something today, but I really dont know what. That's all.

Miners.

My thoughts go out to the families who lost friends, and loved ones in the mining collapse.

To be Political for a moment.

How can President Bush stand there, and argue that we have to do whats right to further Democracy in Iraq, and around the world, when he's breaking laws, (potentially) and saying he will do it again, becuase he's the president?

I just don't understand how. We are going to send our own people around the world to defend a democracy, that our own president doesn't even want to follow the rules of.

Anyways. Had a good day off. Took the tree down, cleaned up, made some potatoe soup. Did a little reading, watched the Pistons game. Today I have to work. Then again, I have tomorrow off..:)

Applied at a new restaurant, thats not even open yet down the street. damn nice looking place. Great looking bar up front. Fireplace in the middle of the dining room. Tiled kitchen. New equipment. Menu looks nice as well. Even if I dont get a job there, I think I will go for dinner when they open. Wierd thing about it though. Apparently they are part of the Scientologists. There was a disclaimer at the top of the menu about how you understood, and that they were part of some management program from Scientologists. Now, I read the Mission Earth stuff, but Hubbard, and a couple other of his Sci Fi stuff. Never Scientology.

Oh well, thats all for now.

Long story short.

Ok. We have something of a running joke at work. I will just give you the highlights. We all find it pretty funny.

The Grabahoe Indians. They live between the Twin Lakes of Ichticootchie, and Likacootchie. Its warm all year round, you just have to watch for the bush around there, and they have good clams.

Ok. Its nice to have a day off. REAL nice. It was nice to not have to get up at 6 Am. Update for Warcraft today, so I cant get in yet. Nothing Major. I will just take care of house stuff till its done, and ready.

Pistons on tonight. Lets hope they can recover from the loss last week.

Slam.

It's almost time for a day off. I can't wait. The getting up early, the working late, the business. It's almost done and over with. I think today is going to be the last day. A lot of people have the day off from work today, soI think we will still be busy tonight.

I got the phone number of a place down the street from me, I am going to call them tomorrow, and see about getting a interview. I might just drive by,

I know I said I was taking the tree down last week, but, I didn't. It's coming down tomorrow. I get paid this week, and the secret santa gift for OO has to be mailed out. It has to. I can't wait to get the 10 gallon for the two bettas going soon too. When I repay nicole the money I borrowed to get the car fixed. So maybe Thursday-ish. At least to get the tank. Takes a week or so to cycle though.

Word got around work fast about my verbal arguement with the one cook on New Years Eve. Like word does in that place. It spreads like the plague. At least I really wont see him till this weekend. Maybe by then, it will be done and over with. Oh well.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

here's to hoping that lots of good things happen this year. Hopefully I can do better this year than I did in the last.

Worked. It was damn busy too. Got in a fight with one of the other cooks. Came home, played some warcraft, had some champagne with the Gf, and that was all. Got up at the crack of dawn to take her to work, came home, and went back to bed.
