Hmmm

So, I had been thinking. How many of the 'wierd disappearances' or killings that happen in the US, are related to Serial killers that just don't have a profile yet? WEll according to the US Governement. 35-50 Serial Killers are on the loose in the US. Wow. Way more than I expected. That means there are 35-50 people in the US, who are killing, or have killed multiple people with some sort of pattern to it. And we dont know what that pattern is.

As I sit here, Judge Alito is now confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice. 58-42. I really hope he sticks to his words of being imparital and non partisian in his decisions.

New video of the woman from michigan who was kidnapped and held hostage in Iraq has surfaced. She's alive. Like everyone expected. I don't know much about the video. Since we never get to hear them. Oh well.

I hope I can get out of work early today.....Argh. I dont want to close. Also. texas Roadhouse near us had a fire in thier vent system. Which lends to the belief that either they dont have them cleaned regularly, or the company that did clean them, did not do it properly. Apparently the firemen who came in had to rip parts of the ceiling out to get at the fire. might be good for our busniess

No return call on the job that I called back. Oh well.

Take 2? Going Down?

So anyways. Got this from Dubious Quality. Bill has been following the Take 2 thing closely. So far his guesses have almost been spot on.

(http://www.nypost.com/business/62365.htm):
January 28, 2006 -- With its cash dwindling and regulators circling, the edgy Take Two Interactive is looking for a financial lifeline from buyout firms.

Take Two, which makes the popular "Grand Theft Auto," has been "in active talks" with several buyout firms over the past week, souces told The Post.

The funds were not identified.

"For a fund, it is a bet that the cash flows from sales of 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' and 'Liberty City Tales,' and new management could get around the growing liabilities," said a source close to the company.

So, there ya go. He's been calling it for some time, and I have been talking about it too.

Anyways. Weekend blew. Work sucked. Every day I go in, makes me want to find a new job now. It's getting bad. Saturday night, there was a magician. he didnt just walk in. The owner hired him. WOW! Gonna tell us all we cant afford to have people there, and cut hours, and then hire cooks, servers, dishers, hostesses, and a fricking Magician. Oh well.

Saturday, January 28, 2006

Wow, its been a few days.

Lots of interesting things in the news. Some reported by other friends, and people, and other stuff, just all over the news.

gaming Stuff: No more mostly naked booth babes at E3, this year. Big deal. Yea some of they were either in cool outfits, or some were nice to look at. Maybe its just me, but I didnt think many of them were that great looking to begin with.

2nd: Take 2 industries, or whatever they are. Your favorite company that sells GTA and stuff like that. Looks like they are going under fast. Thier stock fell 19% at one point yesterday, and finsihed at -13%. They are about to be indicted it looks like, for finanace fraud, and ALL SORTS of people are leaving the company. Now its not that they dont have money. Its that they have been lieing about how much they are making.

Civ IV. Picked it up last week, after the X Mas party, since I got a 20 dollar gift card. Liking it more than I thought I would. Nice graphics, great music. I wish I was able to follow the tech tree a bit more. I did win my first ever CIV game though. With the egyptians. Took out the russians early. Then the Japanese, and I was in the process of killing the Incas, when I built the UN, and was voted Secretary General. And voted for Diplomatic win. WHich I got as I was using stealth bombers to bomb the Incan Capitol.

Political Stuff: Hamas won a democratic election in Gaza. President Bush then tells the current 'president' there to NOT step down. Ummm, doesnt that make you a dictator then? Just because Bush feels he has the right to do as he pleases here, doesn't mean that other people are willing to do that as well. it just goes to show that the majority of people over there, seem to really not like Jewish people. It could be bad news, but it could not. I am sure we will see.

More hostages. When will they stop asking for the release of ALL prisoners. On top of the fact that the US does not negotiate with terrrorists, why would you ask for EVERYONE to be realeased when it hasnt worked in the past?

Alito looks like he will be given the seat. I am sort of half and half on this. He seemed OK, to me when they talked to him, but I would have really liked to have heard some good stuff from him, instead of the usual run around. I wish the people in ALL the government would stop with the run around. Wont happen.

20 years since challenger. I was in 5th grade, I think. I remember I was at school. St Angelas. Our 8th grade science teacher was one of the finalists for the flight. Like one of the last 10 or something like that. I remember seeeing teachers, and nuns in the halls crieing. Coming back from lunch. I think it was 5th grade, cuz I think I was there with Bob, who I am still friends with. Wow.

12 years since my mom died. Time has flown by. Wow.

I have to call another restaurant about a job. I would really like to be making some nice food. Since it seems that I wont be anyting but a sautee cook at this place. And I am really just tired of all the crap. They know people dont and cant do thier jobs, and they continue to let them work. Wow. I mean they could do it with half as many people if they got good people to do the job.

Oh well, I think thats all for now..:)

Ow

X Mas Party for work. Headache. Meant lots of imbibing. It's really not to bad. Just a mild headache, which I can cure with some caffeine, some water, and a vitamin.

Everyone was happy with the small gifts. Well all two that I gave out. I got myself a 20 dollar gift card to Best Buy, GF got us a gift certificate for Chiles. After we got home, she spent a couple hours sleeping around the toilet...:) I dont think she had any problems while in there, so bravo for her..:)

Anyways. Thats about it.

Saturday, January 21, 2006

Its been a few.

Well, it's been a few days, and I know I haven't had much to say. Same shit. Different day. Work. Home. Work. Home. Same old, told ya. I am looking at getting a cheap digital camera this pay, maybe. Something under 200 bux, and I saw one that seemed ok for what I want it for, for about 90 bux.

The fish are coming along nicely. Well, the two bettas. Anyways. Since the red one managed to catch and kill the other neons in with him. Other than that they seem happy.

had to get up early to take the GF to work, so I took a small nap, and now I am burning CD's as a gift for one of the waitresses at work. I asked her before X mas if she had em and she told me, 'no'. My plan has been all along for her to get them at the X mas party, which is this coming Sunday.

I think I might start to do reviews of the palces I go to eat. For anyone out there who reads this, it might give some nice alternatives for places to eat.

As a side not. I made level 55 the other day, so now I should be able to start my Onyxia key line stuff. AND, I am trieing to get a copy of Advents Children on DVD. We shall see.

Snow.

Wow, its nice to see some snow again out there. They said a coating, but thats more than just a coating.

All's well in the fish tank. So it seems anyways. The red and blue bettas are busy lfaring at each other, the neon tetras are busy staying away from the red fish. I'm not sure at all, that I like the filter though. I may have to switch to under gravel right away, it looks like the one now is a bit to powerful for the fish.

reallyl looking forward to some WOW playing these next couple days.

fighting with the GF over some stupid shit right now too.

mmm, tomorrow off.

I can't wait. Its payday this week, and I believe we get our W-2 forms as well. I sooo want to get my taxes done this year, and get a new car. or a new used car. Get rid of this piece that I am driving. It gets me where I need to be though, so that works.

Well, the red betta managed to catch and destroy one of the Neon Tetras. So shouldn't have to feed him for awhile. I am thinking Might move the crowntail into the other side tomorrow. I want to get some more plants as well as a hiding place for the tetras.

Nothing exciting going on really. X mas party this weekend at work, finally. Should amusing to say the least.

Work. We are removing rib eyes from the menu. It's the only steak that we cut ourselves. Everything else comes vac-packed. Its a good steak, and it looks nice. Our owner thinks we dont sell any. During the week, not usually. On the weeked, while we dont sell as many as the smaller vac-packed steaks, it doesnt go to waste, we sell a whole one. We are replacing it with a Chicken Portabella Pizza. Ummm, why? No one ate that when it was on the menu previously. Not to mention we have a few regulars who come in JUST for the rib eye.

Here's what i think. Our owner, is the owner of another store as well. In Birch Run. It's been there something like 9 years. They do more money than we do. My guess would be because we are in a really bad spot of the strip mall we are in. Yes, there is a movie theatre, but its on the oposite side of the lot, and there is no direct drive to our building. Which hurts Us i think. Also, our owner thinks we dont sell anyting. Sort of like little brother complex. Our numbers are never as good as our big brother, so therefore, we must not sell anything. We always run out of stock. never have enough people, or just are plain short and behind when he sets things up in the morning. Friday night, we will have 100 small pizzas par baked, and we sell about 250. he will insist that 100 is enough, then is surprised when we run out at like 6 PM, and are open for another 6 hours. He managed to amaze that employees and even the managers, with the way he does things. When you tell him something, he agrees with you, then wanders off, to do nothing about it. When something is broke, you can tell him for weeks, and he just insists its not.

Our Salamander. The thing you melt cheese in. Burgers, Parmasean, things like that. Broke last year. You could actually grab the rake out of it wth your bare hand, and it was barely warm. He insisted, for MONTHS, that it just needed to be cleaned. FINALLY, right before X Mas, we got maintenance in to look at it. And it needed 3 new parts. We got 2 of them. And it was working nice. but never got the third part. HELLO! It's just going to break again, and we will need new parts for it. Its the small things like this that really grate on my nerves.

MLK Day

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

This was in 1963. in April of 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, was shot and killed on the balcony of a motel. 1968. I was born in 1973. A mere 5 years later. I know my parents were around. Unless they were 5 when they had me.

How much longer would things have continued the way they were if he had not been killed? 10 years? 15 Years? 20 Years? 1988, in the midst of metal excess, and motley crue, and poison, and all the coke, would black people still be turned away from jobs? Would black people still have been turned away from poll places? Would people in America still turned a blind eye to the situation in the US?

We still have problems today. Even near 40 years later. People say we don't need affirmative action. Yet, people still attack minorities in this country, becuase they ARE minorities. Is affirmative action sort of a double edged sword. Yes. People who areon't qualified do get jobs they shouldn't. The qualified ones find ways to get things done. Some minorities in this country are given more than enough opportunity to repair damages done, and still complain. People will always complain.

I can't even imagine a world in the early 80's or late 80's where black people would still be treated like they had been in the 60's. Sitting in the back of restuarants. Sitting in the back of busses.

If you have never heard the full 'I have a dream..." Speach. American Rhetoric
Check it out there. Great speach.

46 & 2

Another week gone by already. 2006. Any different from 2005? Let's hope so. I think soon you will see the Dems and Reps gear up for the election.

Lost one of the neon tetras to the intake on the filter in the tank. One of the small ones. I moved the one into the other side now, so there are 3 in one half of the tank. I will prolly make sure to have some sort of plant near that intake, so as to make sure the betta doesnt get his fins sucked up in there at all. Payday next week, gonna try and get at least a couple plants for in there. I am just not seeing things I like.

Work was pretty busy last night, and tonight, and tomorrow, should be nuts as well. I think this is one of the few places that I have worked where MLK day made us way busier. Maybe there was something else going on around there the last two years to contribute, but not that I was aware of.

WoW, is coming along nicely Ran some of Black Rock Depths last night, with some other guys. It wasn't the greatest, but at least I got in. Should be 53 soon. It will be interesting to see the guild run BWL next week. I should be along there within a month. I should be on Onyxia raid within two weeks.

Movies: Skeleton Key. Not to bad. Interesting story, and twist. Worth a rent I would say.

I can really see why the theatres haven't been doing well. None of the movies I have rented to watch have really been all that great. So why would I want to pay 9 bux to go see one. GF and I saw King Kong and it was a pretty good movie DEFINITELY a must see for Kong fans, I think. Really a must see in a BIG theatre. The only movie we have rented that I really wish I had seen in the theatre was War of the Worlds. It wasn't even that great of a movie, really. Would have been cool to see the effects on the big screen though.

Playoffs. Not even really had a chance to follow any of the games. Once I got knocked out of the fantasy league. I kinda stopped paying attention, and my work schedule has REALLY not been kind to football watching. I don't think I am going to get the Super Bowl off either, which kinda sucks. I worked X-Mas eve. New Years Eve. New Years Day. Thats the way it goes, I guess. Sucks.

Added Note.

As a added note. Happy Friday the 13th to everyone. This should make work very interesting.

Stopped at the pet store, got my freshwater test kit. Tests the ammonia, Nitrate, PH, and nitrite levels of the water. Everything seems to be where it should be for day one of the tank..:) I bought 4 Neon Tetras, and added 2 to each side of the tank. its pretty empty in there right now. Gravel....and.....water...:) I dont have the cash right now to buy any plants for in there. And its on the kitchen table that never gets used, until I can get a stand. GF might get one for me, since the tank was only 40 bux. At least I hope she does since, 40bux for X Mas from her would really suck some major ass.

And Again.

Again. Its dark enough out from cloud cover, that I have to have lights on in the house at 10AM. It makes me so sleepy.

SAt around yesterday with the GF, played WoW. We went to dinner. Her treat, since last week, she bugged me to do stuff then 2 hours in, when it was to late, decided that she was bored, but didnt want to go anywhere.

We went to Ruby Tuesdays. 40 Bux for App, two drinks, a dinner, and a sandwich. Not to bad, for the quality really. It was OK. Being a cook though. I really expect more.

Came home, set up my ten gallon tank to cycle, and played more WoW, and made level 52...:) Cruising right along.

I have to stop today after I take her to work, and get a pair of guppiies to put in the tank, and a PH test kit as well.

Prolly a couple snails too. Hopefully the bettas will be pleased.

Thursday the 12th

43 out right now, its supposed to hit 50. in january? MAN, are we in for some B.A.D. snow storms sometime soon.

Going out tonight, but not sure what I want to do. Something fun. Something different.

Still watching the Judge Alito hearings in front of the Supreme Court. not sure I really like this guy. Oh well. More hard times for the US ahead.

Tuesday, January 10, 2006

Ho Hum.

Welp. it's Tuesday. Umm, that's about it. Been watching the Supreme Court hearings on Alito, and yesterday, I really had a good feeling about this guy. Today. Not so much. He really seems to be worried about some of his answers to questions. He's on his heels already, and the day just began.

I also have been researching plants for my fish tank, that I don't have yet. Java fern, Java Moss, Rice Patties. I want to find silk, or soft plastic plants similar to these for the tank when I get it up.

Got tomorrow off, and that will be nice. I am really looking forward to it this week.

On a gaming note. Bill harris, who's blog I read pretty religiously, has posted about a letter he sent to the ESRB inquiring about the rating process. Dubious Quality. Also, something I agree with, is that he thinks there will be a new rating system soon. I think so as well. They need to jump on the boat before the government comes on and takes over the helm. If they don't do something, I think government intervention in this matter will seriously hurt the gaming industry.

Monday, monday.

Welp, I managed to make it through the weekend, though yesterday at work, I really thought I was at my boiling point.

I walk in yesterday, and the managers tell me about how slow its been all day. Awesome, just the sort of day I am looking for. I peek into the kitchen, and see the manager/cook guy leaning on the counter, just talking to people. Servers, cooks, whatever. I walk in the back, and the morning sautee guy goes.

'It's empty up there.'

Great. Why? If it's been slow all day, why the hell is it empty up there?

So I change, head up there, nothing much going on, the manager/cook, heads down to the other side of the kitchen line, to the pizza side. I start opening the coolers. Empty. Freezer, Empty. WHY!? So I start making a list. A Long list of the things I need to bring up there.

Meanwhile, it's starting to get busy. Not to busy. But for one person busy. I got about 10 orders I am trieing to cook, as well as find the items to cook them with. I look down on pizza, and there are 2 managers, and 3 cooks, down there. Only one cook is actually doing some work. 2 Cooks, and 2 Managers standing there, talking to each other.

Ummmm....HELLO! Its busy and you morning people didnt do SQUAT! This is my daily ritual on the weekends, and its really starting to get to me. I can take my weeks paid vacation soon, and I cannnot wait. Hopefully next pay we will get our tax forms, I can turn mine in, get my refund, and take my vacation. I wanted to wait till around my birthday, like I did last year. But I think I might take it early, not real sure.

Anyways. That was my day. Hopefully today, since its monday it will be slow.

Sunday, January 08, 2006

sundays....argh

Argh, another one of these. Late night from work, then have to be up to take the GF to work in the morning. I hate it. I can't wait till we get another car. Lately, I had been going back to bed after dropping her off, but I thought that today, I might struggle through it, and get some Warcraft stuff taken care of. I really miss not hitting 50 this week. But I might be able to get damn close to 49 before I head off to work.

i would really like some new music, but a lot of the bands that I listened to have done NOTHING. And I mean nothing. Wow, its been slow. Guess, I am going to have to find some new music to listen to or something.

Auto Show starts this week here in Detroit. I didn't go the last couple years, but, I am interested in going this year, I dont know if I will make it though. I will have to see if I can get my brother to attend or something.

Other than that, nothing majorly exciting.

Movies.

Ok, two nights ago, we watched Wedding Crashers. Good movie. I dont think it was as good as people made it out to be, but it was a good movie. Funny in the begining and funny at the end, but slow in the middle. I would still recommend a rent.

Now. Excorcism of Emily Rose. I heard mixed reviews on this one. Great, or sucky. No middle ground. Personally, I thought it was a good movie. Not surperb by any manner, but good. I think the problem was, that by the trailer, people were mis led. THis is not really a horror movie. Its a drama, with some supernatural thrown in. I also like movies like this based off true story. So after the movie, I went online to look up information on it. Couple of the GLARING changes.

Name: Anneliese Michel
Location: Bavaria
Period: Late 70's.

Reading the wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anneliese_Michel there was some other interesting information as well. I recommend this as a rent as well. In the end if was thourght provoking. I wouldnt mind seeing if I can find the book that the doctor wrote on the subject.

Friday

Welp, its Friday. I think this weekend should be pretty slow at work. First weekend after a major holiday. People are tired from being out and about for the holidays.

Watched the clip of O'Reilly on david Lettermans show. Eh. I think it was more a tie. It was nice to see O'Reilly out of his safe little bubble on FOX though.

Pat Robertson. How many time does this guy have to put his foot in his mouth, before people realize hes a cook. He's claiming that The Israeli Prime Ministers stroke was sent by god, for his attempt to divide 'god's land'.

I mean this guy has enough followers who can pretty much control any vote made in the US, if they all band together. Crazy.

Picked up Dangerous Waters from Best Buy, yesterday. VERY interesting game. The graphics aren't top notch or anything, but its a thorough game. Not flashy or anything, not fast paced. But it sure does have a good feel to it. And I suck at it.

I dont think anyone really reads this. BUT. I am going to be getting a 10G fish tank for my bettas soon, and I would really like to set up something very natural looking for them. If anyone has bettas, suggestions would be appreciated.

Friend of mine sent me this interesting 'politcal' link.
http://www.archive.org/stream/ill-art/spin.mp4
Its a hour long, or about that, but pretty interesting. Give it a look.

Diluted

Morning.

Nothing much to say. No Work. It's Raining. I think I might go for sushi for lunch. It's been awhile. There is a place down the street from me called Osaka, and they have always have great food when I went in. Maybe some green tea, I don't really know yet.

Thomas Hernes. The Boxer. Former Heavyweight Champion of the world was charged with child endangerment and some other charges after he punched his son. News came out that his son threw the first punch. Ummmm...... if your dad is a former heavyweight champion, I don't care how made you get. Throwing a punch at him seems like a bad idea.

That would have been like Brandon Lee getting mad at his dad one day and trying to pull off a roundhouse kick on him. And then....Darkness. There would be no more Brandon Lee. He would have been lieing there like a pile of crumpled clothes.

Nothing else really. I want to do something today, but I really dont know what. That's all.

Miners.

My thoughts go out to the families who lost friends, and loved ones in the mining collapse.

To be Political for a moment.

How can President Bush stand there, and argue that we have to do whats right to further Democracy in Iraq, and around the world, when he's breaking laws, (potentially) and saying he will do it again, becuase he's the president?

I just don't understand how. We are going to send our own people around the world to defend a democracy, that our own president doesn't even want to follow the rules of.

Anyways. Had a good day off. Took the tree down, cleaned up, made some potatoe soup. Did a little reading, watched the Pistons game. Today I have to work. Then again, I have tomorrow off..:)

Applied at a new restaurant, thats not even open yet down the street. damn nice looking place. Great looking bar up front. Fireplace in the middle of the dining room. Tiled kitchen. New equipment. Menu looks nice as well. Even if I dont get a job there, I think I will go for dinner when they open. Wierd thing about it though. Apparently they are part of the Scientologists. There was a disclaimer at the top of the menu about how you understood, and that they were part of some management program from Scientologists. Now, I read the Mission Earth stuff, but Hubbard, and a couple other of his Sci Fi stuff. Never Scientology.

Oh well, thats all for now.

Tuesday, January 03, 2006

Long story short.

Ok. We have something of a running joke at work. I will just give you the highlights. We all find it pretty funny.

The Grabahoe Indians. They live between the Twin Lakes of Ichticootchie, and Likacootchie. Its warm all year round, you just have to watch for the bush around there, and they have good clams.

Ok. Its nice to have a day off. REAL nice. It was nice to not have to get up at 6 Am. Update for Warcraft today, so I cant get in yet. Nothing Major. I will just take care of house stuff till its done, and ready.

Pistons on tonight. Lets hope they can recover from the loss last week.

Monday, January 02, 2006

Slam.

It's almost time for a day off. I can't wait. The getting up early, the working late, the business. It's almost done and over with. I think today is going to be the last day. A lot of people have the day off from work today, soI think we will still be busy tonight.

I got the phone number of a place down the street from me, I am going to call them tomorrow, and see about getting a interview. I might just drive by,

I know I said I was taking the tree down last week, but, I didn't. It's coming down tomorrow. I get paid this week, and the secret santa gift for OO has to be mailed out. It has to. I can't wait to get the 10 gallon for the two bettas going soon too. When I repay nicole the money I borrowed to get the car fixed. So maybe Thursday-ish. At least to get the tank. Takes a week or so to cycle though.

Word got around work fast about my verbal arguement with the one cook on New Years Eve. Like word does in that place. It spreads like the plague. At least I really wont see him till this weekend. Maybe by then, it will be done and over with. Oh well.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

here's to hoping that lots of good things happen this year. Hopefully I can do better this year than I did in the last.

Worked. It was damn busy too. Got in a fight with one of the other cooks. Came home, played some warcraft, had some champagne with the Gf, and that was all. Got up at the crack of dawn to take her to work, came home, and went back to bed.
